For some time now, I have used Picasa Web to do quite a few things. I like it because it's free for all the features, and integrates nicely with all my Google accounts.

I use it when dealing in classified sections on forums; it's useful to upload your pictures there so people can go and see pictures of the items you have for sale. I have also used Picasa for sharing pictures I have taken. Specifically, when I have gone to the beach or gone on trips and so fourth, it's useful to upload those pictures so other people who also were there can save some memories.
